The wine

José Antonio García doesn’t fail to amaze us with the quality of his wines. Especially with the most modest ones. The two wines in the Unculín range give the appearance of simplicity, even from the actual label, and yet instead, nothing could be further from the truth. These are two serious wines,
with no particular quest for grandeur but with the very real ability to captivate, amaze and convince.

The Unculín Blanco, a serious and austere, fresh and mineral white, with beeswax notes, spicy hints and a touch of almonds. An extremely flavoursome white and with the character of the terrain made perfectly clear, that ancient landscape where not only the Godello but also Doña
Blanca grapes used to grow in the Bierzo’s vineyards.

Wine critics reviewsReviews by Parker

The nose of the white 2019 Unculín Blanco is characterful with notes of pollen, wax, spices and a nutty flor-like twist. It fermented with indigenous yeasts and matured with the lees for five months. It didn't go through malolactic fermentation and is medium-bodied, with 13% alcohol and very good parameters of acidity and freshness. 8,000 bottles produced.

As a huge fan of Bierzo and its star grape, he has based his project on the importance of conserving small-scale...
