The Coto de Imaz Reserva is an intense and silky red which gathers awards from all over, and with its perfect balance wins over all who try it. A traditional Rioja, made for a ready market and very easy to drink, with no rough edges and well-defined as to aromas, a wine produced in large quantities yet with an admirable price-quality ratio.
What does this wine taste like?
At first sight, it appears a vivid cherry colour with a garnet rim. On the nose, the substantial fruit mingles with hints of cocoa, enhancing a mature yet at the same time fresh body, thanks to the fantastic acidity which will allow it to continue evolving in bottle for years. It’s meaty, powerful and velvety, with polished tannins and a vibrant freshness.

husbands favourite but massive price increase since Brexit
Hubbys favourite wine but don't buy as often now as price rose dramatically after Brexit. This is a supermarket wine in Spain, so really don't feel that a getting on for 100% increase was justified. However, still enjoyed so still will buy occasionally
if you liked harsh, you will love this
I was seduced by the label ,think it would be a little gem for the price, for me it was poor for a reserve tasted better out of local supermarket.
I simply love this wine!
This is probably my favourite wine. I has this specific Rioja oak taste and it is so smooth at the same time. I am so happy I found it with delivery to the UK and it is definitely worth the shipping charges. I will for sure be purchasing again *****
Very good wine at a reasonable price.
Cote de Imaz Reserva is a very underrated Rioja. Its price is very reasonable for the quality of wine you are buying. It offers excellent value for money as well as providing a quality wine.
Great on day 3
This was a bit confused on day one, fruit and oak out of balance. However, after the weekend pulled the cork again and it was stunning! Really rich and great subtle tannin and strength.
