Bottle size and vintage
Orto Vins is one of the most interesting projects set up in the Priorat region in recent times, and Orto is their entry-level wine; a coupage of Cariñena and Garnacha essentially, with some additional input from Cabernet Sauvignon and Tempranillo.
Orto was released onto the market in its first vintage year of 2008, with 18,000 bottles, and is the handiwork of four vinegrowers: Jordi Beltran, Josep M. Beltran, Josep M. Jové and Joan Asens, with the latter known for having previously been in charge of viticulture and vinification at the great Priorat winery owned by Álvaro Palacios.
Orto is a mature wine that brims with youthfulness; on the nose it comes over as being a genuine Montsant, with a perfect freshness, an Atlantic character, and in terms of aromas exuding fresh, floral, fruit juice and pure perfume notes. This same freshness is confirmed on the palate and revealed too are touches of very fine aromatic herbs (thyme, rosemary, basil…). Here is a wine that we can thoroughly recommend as well-priced, enabling you to discover this denomination’s true character.

Full bodied yet light and incredibly drinkable! Definitely reccomend this wine. Beautiful taste and well worth the money. Would buy again.by: Monbad (11/02/2017)
Floral and fruty. Easy on the palet
Excellent wine on palet and nose. It gets better after being opened. Authentic Mediterranean smells. Sweet licorice. Remembrance of chocolate truffleby: Arild Skjøller Larsen (09/02/2017)
Interesting blend. Lovely colour clear bluish red, on the nose herbs and cherries. Long and rich taste and with nice tannins with a touch of oak vanilla and dark berries.by: Marc Gros (21/12/2020)
orto for ever
Nos gusta mucho, siempre repetimos. Bajo nuestra opinión un buen vino de Mmontsant
Orto Vins is one of the most interesting projects to have been set up in the Priorat region in recent times. Opting for the Montsant D.O, four vinegrowers have joined ranks: Jordi Beltran, Josep M. Beltran, Josep M. Jové and Joan Asens. They have followed in the vine-growing footsteps of their fathers, grandfathers and great-grandfathers, with a long tradition of working in cooperatives, and in 2008 they decided to start up their own winery and make top quality wines.
