This Cuvée Latour is a generic Burgundy, which does not mean it is a wine of low quality, but quite the opposite. The appellation of origin Burgundy has a very strict regulation regarding the yields of the vineyards, as well as the production of wine. This in itself, already guarantees that the wines of this appellation have a medium-high quality. If we also add the strict controls of the Latour winery, which guarantee a rigorous selection of the wines showing higher typicity, we can be sure that we are facing a great Burgundy red wine. In addition, it should be noted that only vintages that have the sufficient character to ensure a favourable ageing are commercialized.
This initial wine is made with grapes from the vineyards of the south Côte d'Or, including superior Santenay and Auxey-Duresses in smaller proportions, with an average age of 30 years and soils of variable composition (from limestone and clay to granite). After fermenting in the traditional open deposits, it rests in barrels for about a year before being bottled. This Cuvée will remind us of the wines of Beaune, with a nice ruby red colour and a rich aroma of red fruits and cherries, fresh and light, characteristic of Pinot Noir. Its body is wide and its bouquet complex, with a marked tannin and subtle herbal and wood tones. The end is very long and tasty, highlighting the good integration of all the elements and the subtlety of coffee memories.

Burgundy Pinot!
It's hard to go wrong with a Pinot from Burgundy and this one is no exception. It's not my favourite but it is good and I enjoyed it very much.
