The wine

La Revelía is the most sophisticated in the range of whites which Emilio Moro produces in the Bierzo. The most serious, complex and unctuous. A white matured in barrel by a winery that knows very well how to utilise oak without disguising the wine. A Godello white with clearly defined
aromas, well-integrated oak, fresh, lively, and intended to evolve in bottle.

The label is the work of artist Domingo Zapata, who uses some very bold and figurative artwork to reflect the contrasts which can be found in this wine.

What does this wine taste like?

It has a clear and bright straw-yellow colour in the glass and is unctuous and balanced in the mouth with a well-integrated acidity and a perfect fusion between wood and fruit. It has a lingering aftertaste and an accessible and flavoursome profile.

Wine critics reviewsReviews by Parker and Suckling

Their top Godello from Bierzo, the 2018 La Revelía is a serious white that was fermented and aged in 500-liter French oak barrels. It's creamy and spicy, the oak adding layers of complexity, with yellow fruit and toast aromas. It has a round palate and is textured, with structure and a faint bitterness on the finish. This should mature nicely in bottle. 47,000 bottles were filled in December 2019.

Impressive freshness and purity here with a very smooth build on the palate. This is an impressive, deep and fresh white with fresh apples and white melon. Some good complexity. Drink now.

The best Godello grapes are harvested from steep hillsides at heights of over 600 metres. The late ripening and different orientations of the vines brings richness and personality to the wine.

Emilio Moro

Bodegas Emilio Moro has the perfect platform for producing great wines: family tradition (José and Javier Moro are the third generation of vine growers), a strategic site (in the heart of the Ribera del Duero), pure clones of the indigenous grape, excellent quality soils (clay, chalk and gravel) and an ideal orientation. The winery currently owns some 200 hectares of vineyards, planted and grafted with an excellent Tempranillo clone recouped from their oldest vineyards. Some...
