Bottle size and vintage
Ossian is a pure Verdejo, an impressive and individual white. The grapes originate from pre-phylloxera vineyards grown organically in the village of Nieva, in Segovia. After fermentation, the wine is matured in oak vats in the old Monastery of El Parral, in an area of Rueda with the highest altitude. It appears the lovely colour of old gold and has a creamy nose revealing the combined aromas of recently-cut grass, orange peel and white flowers with toasty notes and hints of dried fruits and nuts derived from its ageing. On the palate it's very well-balanced, with extremely good acidity and very well-gauged oak. It's full, glyceric, spicy and has an elegant, intense finish. Always among Spain's best whites. Decanting is advisable.

The more grown up sibling of the excellent Quintaluna, this is a very nicely made wine which I think has good body and elegance. Great with food or on its own, I have been enjoying at home and on visits to restaurants for some years now.by: Ale (26/03/2019)
Outstanding white wine
My favorite Spanish white wine. Requires decanting. Incredible oily and multi-dimensional. Can drink as such or combine with fatty fishby: SP (27/03/2017)
One of my favorite Rueda wines, worth every euro spend. Smooth, complex and clear notes of barrel aging. A very good glass of Spanish white.by: Constantin Stroescu (03/12/2020)
Ho acquistato questa bottiglia dopo aver assaggiato alla cieca un 2006 che sembrava un 2016, talmente era fresco, probabilmente non aspetterò molto prima di assaggiarlo. Una bella bottiglia.by: Jalisco (07/10/2019)
Verdejo en estado puro
Había leído varías notas de cata y su reconociendo en distintos concursos y la verdad que ha sorprendido muy gratamente su color “oro” su paso por boca y ese final tan peculiar del verdejo.
Ossian started up in 2005 with some really exceptional vineyards: 40 ha of extremely old vineyards, located in the Nieva municipality, the highest in the whole denomination, at an altitude of between 840 and 930 metres. The grapevines are pre-phylloxera and ungrafted, with ages ranging between 100 and 200 years old, that were able to survive the phylloxera plague thanks to this area’s characteristically sandy soil, which prevented the disease from spreading; these are ung...
