The wine

Beautiful inside and out, exuberant, and long-lasting, that is the essence of Pazo Barrantes: a fruity, floral albariño, of a unique and refined elegance.

The Pazo Barrantes winery pays great attention to every last detail, from selecting its grapes to designing its distinguished bottle and label. As is to be expected from a winery that belongs to the Marqués de Murrieta group, this is a high quality wine. The grapes come from the Val do Salnés, an area within the Rías Baixas region that sits next to the Atlantic Ocean, a geographical relationship that is reflected in the fresh, salty flavour of the wine.

On the nose, Pazo Barrantes is particularly floral, with aromas of white flowers such as jasmine. It is complex in the mouth and velvety on the tongue, with a glyceric texture thanks to its ageing on lees, offering notes of sweet citrus, stone fruits, and a slightly saline, almondy base.

This is a long-lasting and noble albariño, that combines well with any dish and that can be enjoyed when young or whenever the opportunity arises, given its excellent evolution in the bottle.

Pazo de Barrantes

The history of Pazo de Barrantes dates back to the 16th Century and ever since then the estate has had links with the Creixell family, who own the historic Marqués de Murrieta in La Rioja. Located in the Rías Baixas DO, Pazo de Barrantes comprises a majestic building along with 12 hectares of vineyards, where the Albariño grapes grow enjoying a very mild Atlantic climate and with a strong maritime influence. The winery keeps closely to the spirit of its Rioja "sister",...
