Review

Surrounded by meadow lands in an attractive location and environment, the Dehesa La Granja estate fits into place perfectly as a wine-making establishment aware of its surroundings. Modern production facilities, coupled with underground cellars hewn out of the rock in the mid 18th century, provide the ideal setting for nurturing wines of great quality.

Intense, powerful, with the rich, luscious flavour of ripe dark fruit nuanced by spicy notes from oak-ageing over a period of 24 months, and allowed plenty of repose in bottle.

Reliable producer

I have been a fan of Alejandro Fernandez for many years and none of his wines have disappointed yet. This example is soft, fruity, smooth with a clean finish and is very good value. his daughters are following on in his footsteps,Very reliable so I will continue to buy!

Castilla y Leon !

Wieder ein Wein von einem großen Könner! Nase nach einem Beerenkompott, Holz und Gewürzen. Guter Abgang mit verbleibenden Tanninen.

Robust yet subtle red

This is a lesser-known cousin of the famous Pesquera made by Alejandro Fernandez. It's bold yet has soft tannins, a hint of vanilla. The ageing in oak doesn't overpower, has been done with a subtle touch. From the same area as Toro - this is an old favourite of mine, a great alternative to Rioja.

Still a bit young

Again this is an excellent wine. Full of ripe fruit and plenty of earthy oak flavours. It's still a bit young but very tasty already. Lovely.

Always fantastic wine

This is one of my go to wines from Vinissimus and never disappoints. Such greta value for money. Everyone's wine collection should contain some of this stuff!

Dehesa La Granja

Dehesa La Granja

Alejandro Fernández, the renowned Ribera winemaker, was attracted to vine-growing country in Zamora for his third winery, and returned this estate to its original use – the land had been used for breeding fighting bulls. In a superb location on the banks of the River Guareña, the buildings are very much in keeping with the local and natural environment. In fact, in the mid 18th Century, largeteams of workmen hacked their way underground through layers of rock to create a maze...
