Details for Pieropan Soave Classico 2019
Bottle size and vintage
A typical and paradigmatic Soave Classic, with a young and fresh character, which comes exclusively from its own vineyards located in the classic area of Soave and entirely from native vines. It was in 1890 that Leonildo Pieropan decided to begin to experiment with the production of wine, starting from the vineyards owned by the family. A journey made of hard work and passion, which today sees in Leonildo, grandson of the founder, the figure who managed to make Pieropan a modern and technological winery; an avant-garde structure, where the ancient rural traditions are never forgotten, but rather always represent the base from which to create authentic labels, just like this Soave. At sight it is straw yellow with greenish reflections; the nose opens on floral notes to then develop scents of yellow fruits, vines and elderberries, with mineral hints, creating an elegant and fine aromatic bouquet. On the palate it is agile, dry, mineral and fruity, with a pleasant persistence. This wine is excellent for any moment of conviviality. Ideal as an accompaniment to fish dishes such as fish soup, grilled fish, sushi, tartare and pasta with seafood.
- Optimum serving temperature:Between 6ºC and 8ºC
Delicate but versatile
Dryish and light but with depth. Good on its own but also stands up surprisingly well to a variety of foods.by: Anne (22/05/2019) - Vintage 2018
Light fresh Soave which was very well priced. A good every day drinking wine which can be enjoyed with or without food.by: email@example.com (18/02/2019) - Vintage 2017
Refreshing affordable wine
While La Rocca may be rather better but it's also much more expensive and this is a reliable refreshing wine that is easy to drink on any occasion. A great producer.by: Anthony Charles (19/10/2018) - Vintage 2017
I like it
It's drier than the 2014. which I preferred. But still crisp and enjoyable and I will certainly order some more.by: kenmat (01/10/2018) - Vintage 2017
Well made Classico, well spent money!
Taste of lemon and a touch of grape, pear and is it peach? Minerals and a tiny amount of honey. Medium body, acidic, a little like a riesling but yet not. Long, delicate finish.
The untimely death of Leonildo Pieropan, in April 2018, could only highlight the central role that the winery of that amazing visionary had in the revival and consolidation of the Soave image. A volcanic area of exceptional potential, which thanks to the Pieropans made its way from Veneto to the world. Innovation, at the Pieropan's, was based not only on a modern and agile conception of Garganega, but also on the recognition of Soave as a great cru wine, of long refinement...
