The wine

Made using grapes from the single vineyards estates (the Pagos) of Valdemonjas, Valdecarboneros and Roldán, Lynus is a fine example of an indigenous single varietal, a powerful and structured Crianza, with very fine oak, yet the ripe fresh fruit is the real star.

An intense dark cherry colour with a garnet rim, the wine exhibits well-defined varietal aromas on the intense nose, with notes of elegant oak, as well as balsamic and roasted coffee hints. Well-structured and balanced, it is generous and intense on the palate, with a significant showing of fruit. Revealing fine, smooth and elegant tannins, this is a luscious wine that offers plenty of length.

Aged for 12 months in French (70%) and American (30%) oak barrels, with an average barrel age of less than 2 years old, and subsequently spending 1 year in bottle.

Pago Valdemonjas is located in an emblematic area of the the Ribera, the “milla de oro” (golden mile) sharing a natural boundary with Vega Sicilia. The other two, Valdecarboneros and Pago de Roldán, are to found in the Quintanilla...
