The wine

The soil that nourishes the Mas Alta grapevines is composed of compact llicorella (slate), a texture that forces the plants to take root deeply so as to reach the red clay subsoil which enables good water flow regulation to take place. The grapevines, century-old Cariñenas, Garnachas over 40 years old and Cabernets (20 year-old), provide yields of 250 grams per plant.

The careful selection of grapes for this wine results in one that is powerful, with great structure, fruit-forward, and mineral of course.

Aged for 18 months in new (90%) and first year (10%) French oak barrels.

Although typically Priorat, Mas Alta wines have always...
