A timeless classic, with a French feel and an elegance that has resulted in it becoming a must-have Cava on any wine list taking a pride. Gramona Imperial is also the house's flagship, elegant, sumptuous and very close to the French Champagnes, despite containing only 10% Chardonnay grapes. A symbol of elegance that has made this Cava a true classic among its faithful imbibers and brought about its notability as one of the most renowned Cavas in the world.
What does this wine taste like?
It has an intense nose, with aromas of stone fruit and white flowers, bakery notes, citrus fruit peel, dried fruits and nuts, and subtle toasty, yeasty and buttery hints, all in absolute balance. A pleasant entry, generous in the mouth, and creamy. Velvety bubbles and a refreshing finish which recalls the white flowers and fruit with bakery undertones.

My favourite, especially in magnums, I gave up drinking champagne years ago and Cava is now my favourite bubbly and Gramona Imperial the best. I will continue to drink it as long as they make it.
Simply the best
I have now tried wines across the full range of current Gramona cavas (Imperial 2011 & 2012, III Lustros and Celler Batlle (I forget which years) and Enoteca 2001) and still it's the entry-level Imperial which is my favourite. I found the III Lustros and the Celler Batlle not appreciably better or very different from the Imperial. The Enoteca is a completely different experience, which makes the Imperial for me the best everyday sparkling wine available.
Soft and enjoyable Cava
Great soft and delicious sparkling wine. Everyone that tried it love it at the party. It is pricey but definitely worth for special occasions.
Excellent value - much superior to champagne at equivalent price

Really good value for money (even with the delivery costs to Amsterdam included). My third case already, but who's counting?!

Gramona is one of the most renowned wineries in the Cava sector and possesses a long tradition dating back to 1850. Located in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, its products succeed in expressing all the elegance and identity of a markedly Mediterranean terroir and are distinguished by the excellence accruing from the lengthy ageing periods spent in bottle, the common denominator found in the world's finest sparkling wines. Gramona enjoys a great reputation too for its still wines,...
