Thalarn is the first red wine that Raül Bobet has made in his Pyrenees winery, located in the town of Talarn. It is a single varietal Syrah, a variety which is found in warm areas (Australia) as well as cool ones (Rhône), and in this case originates from vineyards planted at an altitude of 900 metres (3 ha), where the climate is characterised by starkly contrasting day and night temperatures, and an excellent amount of exposure to the sun. A silky wine with good acidity on the palate, it exhibits aromas of violets and fresh fruit, along with spicy touches and hints of undergrowth.

NOTE: After time spent in bottle, precipitation may occur, due to the fact that the wine has not been clarified or filtered. Decanting is therefore recommended.

Fermented in steel tanks, wooden vats and stone tubs.

I love good Syrah

Sexy, polished, young Syrah with a bright future a la Northern Rhone. The peper notes are beautifully intertwined with morello cherries. The finish is fresh and long, love it.

In a few years

Good but young Syrah with a very promising future. Lovely mix of peper meeting cherries giving a rich flavour but lacking depth that should come with age.

Worth buying

Amazing wine. A little expensive when you add travel to the UK, but definitely worth it for special occasions. A favourite of mine!
