The wine

The Reserva of the Cerro Añón range is an elegant wine at a very reasonable price and a most approachable wine from the moment the bottle is uncorked – one of those wines that can be enjoyed straightaway and right up to the very last drop.

Cerro Añón Reserva is a dark Picota cherry colour, of medium density and bright, with a rim showing the first signs of evolution; on the nose it exhibits some primary leather aromas, woodland and mushroom notes, which start opening up, gradually but obviously, until its fruit intensity is totally revealed, particularly the red fruit aromas, accompanied by very fresh and elegant balsamic notes. It has an interesting aromatic personality, no doubt resulting from the traditional coupage: Tempranillo (80%), Mazuelo (15%) and Garnacha (5%).

It continues most appealing on the palate, as this is a wine designed to give real pleasure, with a lot of volume, ripe fruit, peppery hints, just the right acidity and smooth, well-integrated tannins, wholly balanced and persisting right to the finish. A good wine at a good price.
