San Pietro in Cariano is a legendary Venetian terroir, without a doubt. It is a symbol of Valpolicella, where the typical varieties of Recioto and Amarone are expressed with character and elegance. Thanks to a Mediterranean and windy climate influenced by the nearby Lake Garda, an ideal exposure, to the south and south-west, which favours the accumulation of sugary substances. People, ideas and a wonderful family contribute, from generation to generation, to the complex and profound attitude of these wines.
Refined custodians of the territory, the Brunellis have always worked on the recovery of varieties that risked extinction. Varieties that constitute a heritage too often ignored, with preference going to the custom of more productive and conventional grapes. The Corvina is certainly not one of these, and the work of the Brunellis has centred, rightly, on this grape, which is the most representative red native of the Verona area.
Corte Cariano is a pearl. It is a single-varietal expression of Corvina Veronese and of the method of ancient family tradition which provides for a brief and light drying of the single-variety for 60 days.
Ruby red, it releases beautiful aromas of small berries, such as blackberry, currant and the classic ripe cherry, offset by a slightly peppery note. Soft and balanced, with pleasant and velvety tannins. It goes very well with pureed soups and classic soups, such as pasta and beans; first courses of fresh pasta with meat sauce, strong red meats.
