The wine
Founded in 1969 in Elciego, a picturesque village in the Rioja Alavesa, Viña Salceda has been making quality red wines with a strong personality ever since. Viña Salceda Crianza is made from a coupage of Tempranillo (95%) with a small contribution of Mazuelo and Graciano (5%), aged for at least 12 months in American oak barrels, a wine with intense and very fruity aromas dominated by ripe black fruits (sloe, plum), with smoky and spicy notes (black pepper). On the palate, it offers a broad entry and a pleasant, full-bodied mouthfeel. Balanced, with good persistence and hints of black fruit (blackcurrant, vanilla and spices) on the finish. Ideal with meat stews, risottos, pasta and gratins.

Viña Salceda currently makes four wines with very distinct personalities: two wines of the traditional type, a Crianza and a Reserva, and two wines with a more modern profile: Puente de Salceda and Conde de la Salceda, the latter...
