The wine

Well done, pleasant and tasty. At the sight it has a ruby red color just more concentrated than usual while on the nose the most typical hints are mixed with spicy and woody notes. On the palate it is muscular and a little rough so ideal to be enjoyed with just fatty food. Perfect as an accompaniment to meat dishes.

Wine critics reviewsReviews by Parker and Suckling

This is a pretty wine with lots of energy and a bright, tonic personality. Perfect for lean cuts of veal or pork, the Pio Cesare 2019 Langhe Nebbiolo offers a straight-shooting succession of easy fruit aromas, cassis, rose and pencil shavings. It’s all delivered over a lean-bodied mouthfeel.

A firm and fine-tannined red with strawberries and some cedar. It’s medium-bodied with pretty tannins and a long, bright finish. Drink or hold.

Pio Cesare

Active for five generations, Pio Cesare is one of the most historic wineries in Alba and the entire Langhe area. Built along the Roman walls of ancient Alba, the winery has been active since 1881. The team, today decidedly modernized but still managed by the family, takes care of 70 hectares of vineyards, located in the Barolo and Barbaresco area. The range, based on a recognizable and traditional style, with touches of modernity which is fare from radical, provides wine lovers...
