The wine

The grapes are the stars of the splendid natural wine, Le Naturel, which is made almost exclusively from Grenache produced in a northern area considered to be on the limit of suitable climates for such grapes. Growing in cool chalky-clay soils on the hillsides of the Urbasa and Andia mountain ranges, vines are cultivated using organic agriculture methods and without the use of any artificial chemical products.

A relatively small harvest of fruit is collected by hand in mid-October, and then undergoes a strict production process. Next, grapes are carefully selected in the winery, looking for the best-quality healthiest fruit which is left to macerate intervention-free with its skins for only 5 days to obtain delicate colours and aromas It is then decanted manually and gently pressed. Following a malolactic fermentation, the resulting wine is bottled without sulphites.

This extremely careful process creates a wine with an unusual raspberry-red colour. A fresh, honest and intense nose delights with aromas of blackberries and violets. It fills the mouth with fresh fruit as commonly happens with wines produced at altitudes. Very pleasant on drinking, it is an agreeable and lively wine, easy to drink, with a personality and charm far more expressive than its price indicates. Le Naturel is a precious wine, an excellent example of the influence organic and biodynamic agriculture methods can have on the land and its fruits.
