The wine
Château Brown is a wine for the refined, who take delight in fine dining. It’s the excellent red wine from the winery of the same name, one of the Pessac-Léognan appellation’s most well-respected houses.
What does this wine taste like?
It appears a purplish-garnet colour and there’s a real liveliness to its fruit, which initially brings to mind blackcurrants and blackberry jam, but also a quieter effect which elegantly brings on board the spices and the Cabernet’s wild berry notes. After a short while in the glass or light decanting, it exudes scents of stewed plums and cherries with touches of dried herbs and tobacco, even cigar box and pencil lead. It becomes balsamic and even more enjoyable with every minute that passes. The superb fullness on the palate, its length, the tannic texture, earthy, on the aftertaste foretell a great future for this glorious wine.
Drinking and storing
Wait until at least 8-10 years have passed after its vintage date before opening. It can be kept for a further five years. Decant half an hour before serving and aerate in the glass.
Serve between 16ºC and 18ºC
Food pairing
When pairing with food, it favours juicy meats and fresh seasonal vegetables.
