Halfway along the "strada provinciale", a local road, the SP 68 running between Vittoria and Pedalino, we come across the winery of Arianna Occhipinti, a Sicilian oenologist whose wines champion, in a most resolute and natural way, the identity of this particular spot.

Arianna Occhipinti's lands are cultivated by hand and are rich in elements that help the optimum development of her young vineyards, which do not grow very high in order to benefit from the heat given off by the ground. The varieties found there are Frappato, Nero d'Avola, Albanello and Zibibbo.

After the harvest, also carried out manually, the grapes undergo a meticulous selection before a simple and natural vinification. The grapes ferment by means of native yeasts, and subsequent production procedures result in low intervention by keeping to simple and traditional processes. All this gives rise to healthy, honest and authentic wines.

SP68 is a versatile young wine, perfect for any season of the year, and ideal on countless occasions and for numerous pairings, from a barbecue with friends to an impromptu dinner. A light and delicate wine which flows on the palate without any discernible difficulty... but with a character and personality which make it irresistible.

SP68 is the firm's entry wine and made from the Frappato (70%) and Nero d'Avola (30%) varieties. Appearing a ruby-red colour, it's a pleasant and fresh wine that exudes aromas of ripe red fruits, strawberry, cherry, carob, liquorice, tobacco, leather... It's flavoursome on the palate: red and black-coloured berries, herbs, spices... A juicy and vibrant composition, which is in perfect balance with some subtle tannins, fine acidity and minerality.

    Quality Etna rosso

    A sexy little number from Ariana Occhipinti. Beaut bright red fruit, light herby business and lovely balance. Highly smashable. Get around it!

    Surprenant et généreux

    Pour mon palais français, ce vin rouge est vraiment particulier, mais propose de très jolies notes fruités, structure riche, mais pas lourde, car il y a de la "minéralité" ! Vin très agréable et bien équilibré, encore meilleur avec un peu d'aération.
