Details for Tenute Rubino Susumaniello Oltremè 2018
Review
Susumaniello, the most typical grape of the Brindisi area, vinified in purity and aged only in steel in order not to affect the purity of primary and secondary aromas. Oltremé enchants through intense fruity and spicy hints.
Intense ruby red with violet reflections. Fragrant and fresh notes of red berry fruit, among which cherry, pomegranate, raspberries and hints reminiscent of ripe plum stand out, they follow one another on the nose. Spicy hints complete the bouquet with notes of cinnamon and white pepper.
On the palate it is sapid, mineral, round with pleasant and soft tannins that make it particularly pleasant to drink. He prefers tasty dishes such as aubergines and stuffed peppers, orecchiette with tomatoes, risotto with porcini mushrooms. The combination with cold cuts, not too seasoned cheeses, roasted meat is very pleasant.

Tenute Rubino

It was Luigi Rubino, in the nineties, who completely rediscovered Susumaniello, placed at the centre of a dual project: to enhance it in its best habitats, identifying crus in which to grow it as a single vineyard, and let it express itself over time. Oltremé, the simplest, stays 10 months in steel, while Torre Testa, the great selection, rests 6 months in steel, one year in barrique and another year in bottle.
