Pico Maccario Lavignone Barbera d'Asti

Lavignone is a full-bodied Barbera d'Asti DOCG, the top-shelf wine produced by the Piedmontese winery Pico Maccario, located in Mombaruzzo, Piedmont, with an estate of 70 hectares of single-variety vineyards in the heart of the Barbera d'Asti DOCG area. The Barbera grapes are grown on soft hills surrounding the winery; the soils are rich in minerals due to their ancient proximity to lake areas. This wine is vinified with a 15-day maceration in stainless steel. A further 9 months in stainless steel gives this wine a fantastic freshness and drinkability.  The Barbera d'Asti Lavignone from the Pico Maccario winery is a dry red wine that perfectly expresses the characteristics of the Barbera vine; it is very pleasant to drink throughout a meal and during social get-togethers.
