The wine

Nipozzano Riserva is an intriguing and involving wine, ruby red in color, with a good consistency. On the nose it opens with a strong fruity component of blackberry, blueberry and black cherry. Sweet notes of cotton candy and spicy cloves and nutmeg follow. The tannic texture is dense, but not scratchy. In the mouth it is warm and soft, with a beautiful persistence and with a remarkable taste-olfactory correspondence. Excellent in combination with grilled red meat, baked lamb and lightly aged pecorino cheese.

Wine critics reviewsReviews by Jancis Robinson

Red fruit and florals buzzing the nose and palate. Energetic, lots of fresh oranges and orange-tree leaves. Soft, soft tannins and a nudge towards tobacco spice. This may be made in bulk and aimed at supermarket drinkers, but it's juicy, mouth-watering, has proper freshness and spice, and is made without cynicism. The finish is whistle-clean, minty but still packed with great fruit.

Marchesi de' Frescobaldi

Marchesi de' Frescobaldi

Seven centuries and thirty generations of excellence in Tuscan wine: this is the identity card of Marchesi de' Frescobaldi. An Italian wine empire, which with recent acquisitions exceeds 6.000.000 bottles produced per year and 1.200 hectares under vine. Despite these large numbers, Frescobaldi still has a very strong territorial identity, which translates into wines expressed at the highest levels in each territory. Frescobaldi embodies the essence of Tuscany, its extraordinary...
