The new village white 2019 Balsa de Piedra Semillon was produced with grapes from an old vineyard in the village of El Peral in Tupungato, the new entry-level range. The vines deliver very low yields, the must ferments after a direct pressing, and the wine matured mostly in concrete to keep the purity, trying to recreate the style of the wines from yesteryear. It's subtle and complex, not as expressive as the wines from aromatic varieties; this is restrained and more neutral. 2018 and 2019 are very good years; 2019 was cold and dry and, for the Michelinis, one of the best wines from the decade. It has moderate alcohol, very good freshness and a velvety mouthfeel and is clean and pure, finishing with an almost salty twist. 15,000 bottles were filled in June 2020.
