The wine

Más de Leda is the second wine at Bodegas Leda Viñas Viejas, and it contains those batches of grapes that do not reach the great heights required for Leda, but they still receive the same meticulous treatment bestowed upon it.

The fruit of vines over 60 years old, a production process looked after down to the last detail, and the quality of the wood used, result in a wine which combines fruit expression, powerfulness and elegance in a most exemplary way.

Very dense and a garnet shade of Picota cherry in colour, the wine comes over as fine and aromatic on the nose. It releases aromas of ripe fruit, balsamic and lactic notes, along with a creaminess from the wood. On the palate it is flavoursome with a definite sweet richness, balanced, with ripe tannins, fresh, with balsamic (eucalyptus) throughout and a finish revealing oak ageing aromas. There are oily tannins still awaiting some polish, but it offers a very long and persistent mouthful.

Ageing has taken place over 18 months in French and American oak barrels which previously contained one or two wines.

Bodegas Leda

The Leda project was established in 1998 and among those who founded it were the two sons of the famous oenologist Mariano García: Alberto García and Eduardo García. The winery is located in the town of Tudela de Duero's old quarter, in a big old 18th Century house that has been completely renovated. The winery's work philosophy is based on viticulture that respects the environment and on quality above all else. Although not possessing any vineyards of its...
