Bodegas Leda

The Leda project was established in 1998 and among those who founded it were the two sons of the famous oenologist Mariano García: Alberto García and Eduardo García.

The winery is located in the town of Tudela de Duero's old quarter, in a big old 18th Century house that has been completely renovated. The winery's work philosophy is based on viticulture that respects the environment and on quality above all else.

Although not possessing any vineyards of its own, Leda has chosen 40 vine-growing estates for engaging in long-term contracts, with the aim of involving the growers in the procurement of quality grapes. All the vineyard estates are situated on slopes with poor, deep soils.

The winery is capable of handling 50,000 kilos of grapes, utilising the effect of gravity during the whole wine-making process. It is equipped with a press and underground cellars, where wine had long since been made in times past. The objective of vinification is to extract with the minimum amount of interference, the maximum character of the best raw materials. The facilities also include a sorting table in the grape reception area and an ageing room with 155 French (Allier, Nevers and Joupillers) and American oak barrels.
