Lovely Verdejo

A lovely wine with (for my wife and me) the right amount of tanginess. We've tried several Verdejos recently and this one is now our favourite. It goes very well with foie gras and a chutney made of apricots, figs (or similar) in a vinegrette simply of olive oil and a smidgen of balsemic vinigar. (I'm not a wine specialist and therefore lack the vocabulary to describe the wine in specialist terms.)

Marques de Riscal Verdejo 2019

Marques de Riscal (red) is a name I have bought over 25 years. The wine is special and I've got a bottle 25 years old. The white is also a good wine and It tastes wonderful I will buy some more

A cracking Verdejo

An underrated grae by lots of people who haven't holidayed in Portugal or Spain. This wine is a great wine that goes well with or without food. Can recommend

Jean Pineau, the master winemaker at Château Lanessan in the Haut Medoc, gave his professional advice to the then sixth Marquis of Riscal regarding the production of wines following the French system, therefore abandoning the rough and rather unrefined style of Rioja wine and thus establishing La Rioja's first modern w...
