Deep ruby red with light purple reflections, the nose is delicate and of good intensity, elegant complexity with hints of pepper, cinnamon and tobacco; there is a background of red and violet jam. On the palate it exhibits a solid structure and excellent concentration, evolving with fresh, acidity and austere tannins. Well balanced, with a fruity and slightly mineral finish.

Back in touch with an old friend
I first came across Rubesco in the late 1970s and then it seemed to disappear from the U.K. market. I reconnected with it in Toronto last year at fabulous restaurant called Trattoria Nervosa (Yorkville Avenue). The wine is luscious and easy drinking with and without food. It also great value too! I’ve been waiting 8 months for it to come back into stock. So, as soon as I got the email alert (great feature on their website) from Vinissimus, I immediately bought several bottles.
Needs to go back to the 90s
This used to be one of my favourite Italian wines, with an excellent quality/price ratio, but when I bought it again after some 20 years I did not have the same feeling. It can always be that my palate has changed over those years... and I have been spoiled by other wines...
Good for money
It's a blend of Sangiovese and Colorino from Umbria. Quite good and value for money.Good every-day wine, I like it
