Are you looking for a wine that is not overly complex, but aromatic, pleasant, and perfect for drinking while chatting with friends? You should try this Domaine de Majas Syrah. It’s a little beauty on the nose, fresh and light, and ideal as an aperitif. Certainly open and decant it at least half an hour before your guests arrive, because right at the start it does release some reductive aromas (quite usual in wines produced biodynamically); it is on the dry side and has a touch of bitterness.
Once poured, this "Ravin des Sieurs" ('Gentry’s Ravine' is the name of the vineyard where the Syrah grapes are grown from which it is made and it is a really beautiful ravine which was once used by the nobility for taking a walk) presents a lively colour, of dark Picota cherries, clean and showing good density. Its primary aromas are of black fruit, with black pepper notes, spicy hints and liqueur, however it blossoms out beautifully to proffer red fruit aromas and its scent also acquires balsamic and liquorice notes. It displays a very pleasant and balanced freshness, and subtlety.
On the palate it has a good mouthfeel, light, medium-bodied, well-defined and with a lively acidity that enables it to be described as a youthful wine, a jolly good tipple. Just as on the nose, a slight chocolatey bitterness gives it a rustic quality, not devoid of elegance, which ends up being dominated by its fruitiness (blackcurrants), the smoothness of its tannins and its great persistence. A very interesting Syrah.

Ejem!!!

The Domaine de Majas vineyard is planted around Caudiès Fenouillèdes on a total of 30 hectares: an atypical landscape combining vineyards, meadows and forests, in the Fenouillèdes valley (Eastern Pyrenees, Roussillon).
It lies between 350 and 400 metres above sea level, where the climatic conditions are unique in the region: hot and sunny summers, but very harsh winters. The estate is sometimes swept by the Tramuntana (north-westerly wind) or cooled by the...
