Review

Dalmau is a wine with character, powerful and delicate at the same time, the wine which reflects the most modern facet of Marqués de Murrieta. You can see this to be so in its blend, a rigorous selection of the Tempranillo, Graciano... and Cabernet Sauvignon varieties, and in its ageing: new barrels... of French oak.

It's a single estate wine, from the century-old Pago Canajas, located on the Ygay estate, and of limited production. This is an elegant wine and quite unusual, that creates a strong impression on all the senses, due to the attractiveness of its blend, its complexity, intensity and body, and its magnificent balance. An elegant, classy wine that is captivating on the nose and seductive on the palate.

Marqués de Murrieta is one of the most historic Spanish wineries. Its origins date back to 1852 when Luciano de Murrieta started trading his wines in the New World. Today, 165 years later, the impressive Ygay estate seems untouched by the passage of time, but that couldn't be further from the truth. Nowadays, Vicente D. Cebrián-Sagarriga, the present Count of Creixell, manages the winery with his sister Cristina and a skilled young team which understands how to maintain the b...
