Distilled and bottled at the Yamazaki distillery, Japan's oldest distillery founded in 1923 by Suntory Shinjiro Tori. This Single Malt is produced from the purest natural ingredients in virtually hand-crafted fashion. The distillery is located in the Yamazaki Valley, near Kyoto, surrounded by bamboo woods and boasting a unique microclimate.
A coppery-gold colour, the whisky reveals aromas of sherry and raisins on the nose, with fruity notes of candied cherries and spicy chocolate hints of coffee cream. On the palate, notes come through of dark chocolate, rum and raisin toffee, and roasted coffee beans. The finish is long and flavoursome.
Matured for 18 years in oak barrels, mainly Oloroso sherry casks.
