The wine

Adorned with the Japanese white anemone, a motif created for the house in 1902 by Émile Gallé, master of Art Nouveau, the Belle Époque Blanc de Blancs cuvée from Perrier-Jouët is the rarest and most emblematic of the house. Proudly embodying 200 years of illustrious know-how, this champagne is made from a single historical terroir, a single grape variety and a single year.

With a total area of 6.8 hectares, Bouron Leroi and Bouron du Midi are the first two plots acquired by the house in the middle of the 19th century. Located in Cramant on limestone soil and facing south-east, this semi-hillside terroir classified Grand Cru reveals all the potential and the aromatic nuances of a flagship grape variety of Champagne, Chardonnay.

2006 is an exceptional year in Champagne. The month of July is marked by strong heat which gives way to cooler conditions in August, followed by an Indian summer before the harvest. These optimal conditions for ripeness made it possible to harvest grapes with a perfect balance between sugar, acidity and aromatic purity.
