From today, Tralcetto is more than we are used to know. One of the most popular Italian reds in the world is now available in a Limited Edition to fight violence against women. The iconic Tralcetto becomes all red. A red wine in solidarity with a widespread alarm that concerns civil values and human rights. In fact, the company Zaccagnini has decided to support in a very concrete way the initiatives of AMREF: for every bottle of Red Tralcetto sold, 1€ will be donated to the campaigns of the NGO active especially in Africa against violence against women. Only 10.000 bottles dyed red at the same price of the "classic" Tralcetto to say, with Isaac Asimov, that "violence is the last refuge of the powerless".
Perhaps some will turn their noses up at the symbolic and sly packaging, but Tralcetto is and remains one of the symbols of Italian wine. Even the most skeptical must agree that this wine is not just presentation, but also substance. First of all, the idea of rolling a small vine around the neck of the bottle is not a superficial operation. On the contrary, it bears witness to the lasting bond between this great winery and its land, between its entrepreneurial futurism and the solid approach to working in the vineyard.
If the bottle is the cover that announces a story by attracting the reader lost among the shelves, the wine is, in this case, a very compelling story. Tralcetto tells the story, without hypocrisy and superficial flourishes, the true essence of Montepulciano, with its strengths and its limits. A story that has its roots in Abruzzo nomadism and work in trabocchi (fishing machines), and that unites, in a unique and lively civilization of proud peasants and fishermen, the healthy good taste of Abruzzo. Grapes which are too young and a bit thorny? Perhaps these are the limits of Montepulciano that Tralcetto narrates with passion. But try them with a real arrosticino or with a nice pecorino: those limits will change their appearance and will go on to expand the ranks of the merits of this wine.
Tralcetto is a wine of a territorial character, of an intense ruby red colour with violet reflections. The bouquet reveals an intense and characteristic aroma with all the primary aromas of the vine: notes of jam of small red fruit, bitter almond, spices, combined with ethereal sensations. The taste is full and well structured, tannic and warm, soft and with a great taste-olfactory persistence. Strong body, sometimes a bit rough and lively, but well balanced by the perfect tannic qualities and the wood for aging. It is excellent accompanied with elaborate meat dishes, pasta with ragù and medium-aged cheeses.

Zaccagnini
One says 3,000,000 bottles and one thinks of the wine industry. Marcello Zaccagnini's is instead eclectic and dynamic, very sensitive to the needs of the market, of course, but deeply rooted in love for the territory like few others. As one of the best represented Italian wineries in the world, Zaccagnini displays a virtuous union between entrepreneurial vision and vineyard and cellar expertise. In the countryside of Casauria, the Zaccagnini's have their roots, and here they...
