Bottle size and vintage
An interesting old vine Garnacha (80%), supplemented with Syrah from recently planted vines (about 10 years old) and made with an idea in mind: to produce “a Rhône wine in Spain”. A fascinating wine too, since it enables us to rediscover a denomination, Méntrida, more accustomed to producing bulk wine and with few wineries bottling quality wine.
A dark Picota cherry red of medium intensity, the wine appears clean and bright. It is very fragrant on the nose and rich in nuances, releasing red fruit aromas typical of the Garnacha grape and mineral wafts straight from the terroir, with spicy and fine wood notes. This is a medium-bodied wine, with good volume, ripe tannins, a certain sweetness, and lively acidity. The flavoursome finish has plenty of intensity and is most refreshing.
Malolactic fermentation in barrel. Aged for 8 months in new (50%) and semi-new (50%) French oak barrels.
