The wine
The Purgatori wine comes from the Les Garrigues area in the DO Costers del Segre appellation; a region known for its arid lands and tough climate. This environment has left its mark not only on the character of the people living there, but also on products made there as the monks who worked these lands for centuries could testify to. The resilient grapes used to produce Purgatori, combined with the warmth of French oak barrels, delight us with a dark and intense wine; a tannic yet elegant wine. A homage to the local people and their character whose strength carried them through when others might have given up.
