Review

The Gewürztraminer has experienced a kind of renaissance in the past few years. The vine with its unmistakable reddish berries comes from the wine-growing village of Termeno and today is widespread in almost all the vineyard areas of the globe. Unlike many international Gewürztraminer, this one is dry vinified. This leads to a fruity-spicy type of wine, which is not easily forgotten. It is seductive for its aromatic fullness, pervaded by fine spicy notes of cloves and delicate rose hips. Extremely flexible wine, it is drunk well as an aperitif and is pleasant together with spicy and intense dishes such as chestnut ravioli with black truffles, shellfish and Tyrolean cheese dumplings.

my favourite white wine

Gewurztraminer from San Michele Appiano is one of the best white wine available in north Italy, in particular, the winery has a great location near Bozen that allows them to get the ideal situation for getting the best Gewurztraminer in the market. Try the St. Valentine one if you want to taste an even more special Gewurztraminer

The classic line is historically characterised by its immediacy and expressive loyalty to the vine and the territory, with products that have made history of Alto Adige wine and which have drawn the wine landscape. Names like Merol, Montiggl, Schulthauser, Anger, Lahn, together with the reserves, constitute the top...
