Poggio al Tesoro Bolgheri Superiore Sondraia

An adjunct of the Allegrini group, Poggio al Tesoro has been active for fifteen years in the magical district of Bolgheri. Elegance and power are the features of the territoriality of this winery, aimed at producing wines which are fine and aristocratic, but full of vigour and strength.

Sondraia is a noteworthy Bolgherese classic, of great harmony and finesse. It is at the same time of a beautiful full and lively ruby colour, and persistent and impenetrable. The aroma’s first impact is energetic and complex, and has intense notes of fresh fruit, from currant to fragrant raspberries, and of aromatic herbs, red flowers, undergrowth, pepper and cinnamon. This bouquet is joined by an enchanting background of humus, mint, liquorice, flint and cigar.

The olfactory notes find a perfect partner on the palate, where the wine stretches out with class and allure. A stark, tasty, enveloping palate with excellent mineral and fruity recurrences. The finish, long and stretched out, is particularly savoury, and guarantees the definite longevity of the wine. Supertuscan in terms of race and class, aged in barrique during the first and second phase, and then in the bottle.
