|Type||Vino Naranja del Condado de Huelva|
£16.15/ 0.5 L btl
An original wine, made from a sweet oloroso wine, which has remained in contact with the dehydrated skins (dried out in the sun) of bitter oranges from the Doñana region for at least 8 years and kept on its lees. This sweet wine exudes profuse aromas of oranges and is richly endowed with nuances and subtle contrasts.
A mahogany colour, somewhere between dark russet-brown and chestnut, with orangey hues, the wine has a generous and persistent nose, delivering intense notes of bitter oranges. Mellow, smooth and mature on the palate, it exhibits hints of wood and a strongly orange persistence in the retronasal passage.
We were in Seville and discovered this special wine.
Better than I'd even hopex
I'd searched for a long time for something like this wine and was so happy to taste it. Like a marmalade port. Great with strong creamy cheeses for desert. It brought back memories of a happy week in Seville. The shipping was obviously expensive to the UK but it arrived so fast it was worth it. I might even buy a whole case as presents for friends and family.
A lovely drink. A favourite of mine and my friend. It is much better if kept in the fridge
This is my preferred orange wine, lovely warming sweet orange.
Delicious wine perfect with a chocolate orange cake
Bodegas Iglesias is located right in the heart of Condado de Huelva, in a restored old convent dating back to the 18th Century. Under its vaulted brick ceiling, oloroso sherry wines were matured for use at Mass.
