Review

Initially aged under a film of yeast called ‘flor’, and afterwards for several years with oxidative ageing. It is made using the traditional solera system for ageing sherry, whereby tiers of casks (criaderas) are arranged so that the upper rows feed their younger wines to the older wines below.

NOTE: Should be served very cold.

Un beau représentant de la famille

Dans cette famille des Amontillado, l'Escuadrilla est une belle représentation avec un corps riche tout en gardant un côté sec. Chez le même producteur, même s'il n'est pas une "rare", j'ai cela dit davantage l'Amontillado " Los Arcos ".

Rapporto qualità prezzo eccezionale!

Per me che porto in giro per il Piemonte, terra di vini non propriamente simili al Jerez, serate di degustazione ed approfondimento sullo Sherry, ritengo l'Amontillado Escuadrilla un validissimo supporto per far capire l'evoluzione che interviene nel Fino quando l'invecchiamento biologico sfocia nell'invecchiamento ossidativo. Io stesso ed anche i partecipanti alle serate rimaniamo sempre stupefatti di come ciò che é destinato a non ossidarsi raggiunga il massimo dopo aver, se mi permettete il paragone, mancato allo scopo per cui era stato inizialmente creato. In questo l'Escuadrilla é un supporto impareggiabile.
