Details for La Estacada Syrah-Merlot Cosecha de Familia 2014
Bottle size and vintage
A blend of Syrah and Merlot, with Syrah predominant, a grape variety that adapts very well to areas with a dry Mediterranean climate, clay and chalk-based soils, capable of giving rise to well-structured wines of fine maturity. Since the 2006 vintage, it has fallen under the Uclés Denomination of Origin.
NOTE: Decanting is recommended before serving.
A dark, ripe cherry colour, almost opaque, the wine displays smoky aromas on the nose, of black olives, violets and balsamic hints. Succulent on the palate, it has smooth but marked tannins.
Aged in oak barrels for 8 months and afterwards for 4 more months in bottle.
