Review

Josetta Saffirio's historic winery from Monforte, for years under certified organic management, is a valued and consolidated legacy. The labels, brought to life by gnomes protecting the earth, perfectly symbolise a production philosophy aimed at the protection of the soil and the environment. The wines, original and territorial, confirm this natural temperament.

The Barolo is a wine of great structure, garnet red with ruby reflections. The bouquet is of an intense aroma with clear hints of vanilla, toasted hazelnut, liquorice, tobacco and cinnamon. The fruity hint is particularly evident, with a prevalence of wild strawberries and blackberries. The taste is full-bodied and elegant, which is consistent with the olfactory sensations. The well-known boisée and the fruity taste are pleasing, which, fed by the refinement in partially new woods, blend perfectly in an embrace of persuasive pleasantness. Ideal for pairings with main courses of red meat, braised meat, game and cheeses.

Leave it 2-4years!

Really great wine. Works with traditional Italian food and grilled meat. But if you can leave i for 2-4 years and its will be even greater. :)
