Review
Clos de los Siete is the wine made by Michel Rolland and three other French families devoted to wine-growing in Argentina. In 1998 Michel Rolland was completely won over by the landscape of the high, snow-covered peaks of the Andes in the Uco Valley, where projects of such renown as Bodegas Monteviejo, Cuvelier Los Andes, DiamAndes and Bodega Rolland itself soon sprang up.
Clos de los Siete is a blend of Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. It emanates from a favourable soil, with pebbles, sand and clay, which bestows great freshness on this wine. The climate, being dry and having significant temperature fluctuations, and a sufficient amount of exposure to the sun all year long, enable the grapes to ripen properly and provide the wine with good tannins. The result is this elegant, meaty and seductive wine which involves not only one of the world's most famous winemakers but also Marcelo Pelleriti, of Bodegas Monteviejo, among the most prestigious in Argentina today.
