Details for Castello di Ama Chianti Classico Ama 2018
Review
Ama is the name of a village which nestles on top of the hills to the south-west of Gaiole in Chianti, at almost 500 metres above sea level. A lovely, fertile landscape where vineyards and olive groves follow one another as far as the eye can see in a picture of captivating beauty.
Castello di Ama possesses about 80 ha which lie round and about this locality, divided into 4 parcels known by the names of Bellavista, San Lorenzo, La Casuccia and Montebuoni. The Sangiovese and Merlot varieties, originating from the youngest plants in these vineyards, are used to make the Chianti Classico Ama. The considerable diversity in soils (with Bellavista having calcareous-clay; San Lorenzo, calcareous; Casuccia, clay and stoney; Montebuoni, very varied), gives rise to a seductive and well-balanced Chianti Clásico.
A wine which is inviting to taste due to its colour and complex bouquet that features aromas of cherries, woodland fruits and roses, along with others of tobacco, pepper and sweet notes of cinnamon. On the palate it's flavoursome, balanced and clean. A supple, immediate, elegant and refined wine... simply irresistible.
