Bodegas Bentomiz

The winery is run by a Dutch couple, Clara Verheij and André Both, and started operating in 2003. The estate is located in the municipal district of Sayalonga, at an altitude of 450 metres. The vineyards are extremely old, cultivated on decomposed slate soils, with little depth due to erosion, but perfect for vine-growing, especially for Muscat of Alexandria vines.

Bodegas Bentomiz is presently producing five wines: two sweet whites, a dry white aged on its lees, a sweet red, and a dry red that benefits from the fact that the indigenous grape variety Romé has adapted perfectly to the local terrain.
