The wine

This is a fantastic carbonic maceration wine, an authentic Italian ‘Vino Novello’, a young wine produced in exactly the right traditional way, macerating all the grapes as whole bunches, and not just in part. It’s the Novello in the Tralcetto range, the iconic wine collection from Ciccio Zaccagnini, known for its strong attachment to the land and its easily recognisable bottles due to the little vine twig attached to or embodied on the neck. A single varietal made from Montepulciano grapes, totally captivating, fragrant and delicious, light-bodied, fresh and very easy to drink.

This wine owes its name to ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arranging. A real homage to the fragrance from a bouquet of irresistible perfume.

What does this wine taste like?

The carbonic maceration technique greatly reduces the acids present in the grapes and releases many vinous and fragrant aromas, creating a very irresistible and tasty product, to be consumed by the spring of the following year.

Ikebana is purplish red in colour. It has an intense, fruity, aromatic aroma, typical of the processing technique. On the palate it is light-bodied, subtle, very pop but elegant, with marked freshness and pleasant harmony.

Drinking and storing

Carbonic maceration wines should be consumed within their first year or, better still, from autumn to spring, to enjoy all their fragrance and freshness. They can be served chilled, especially if enjoyed in spring during a nice picnic.

Serve between 8ºC and 10ºC

Food pairing

It is the perfect accompaniment to a nice aperitif with friends or family while eating roast chestnuts. But that's not all: for those who want to appreciate this wine in spring, it is an excellent red for hors d'oeuvres, appetizers and light, no-fuss barbecues.

Zaccagnini

One says 3,000,000 bottles and one thinks of the wine industry. Marcello Zaccagnini's is instead eclectic and dynamic, very sensitive to the needs of the market, of course, but deeply rooted in love for the territory like few others. As one of the best represented Italian wineries in the world, Zaccagnini displays a virtuous union between entrepreneurial vision and vineyard and cellar expertise. In the countryside of Casauria, the Zaccagnini's have their roots, and here they...
