Review
Ikebana is the new wine by Ciccio Zaccagnini: we could say the new "dal Tralcetto" wine. It is produced, and this is a pleasant exception, according to tradition: the grapes, which are single variety Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, are in fact vinified entirely with carbonic maceration, i.e. putting the whole bunches into an autoclave filled with carbon dioxide. This technique greatly reduces the acids present in the grapes and releases many vinous and fragrant aromas, giving a very persuasive and tasty product but which should be drunk by the spring of the following year. Ikebana has a decisive purplish red colour. It expresses an intense, fruity, aromatic scent, typical of the processing technique. On the palate it is light-bodied, subtle, very pop but elegant, of marked freshness and pleasant harmony. It is enhanced by a gorgeous aperitif with friends or family paired with roasted chestnuts.
