The Skerk family is dedicated to the cultivation and vinification of some indigenous grapes such as the Terrano, a very old variety from the Carso DOC, which this family grows and produces according to the longest-standing traditions and with every respect shown to nature. The vineyards are sited on rocky terrain, rich in limestone and iron, and render very low yields. Vineyard management is carried out by means of organic procedures that reduce intervention to a minimum. Thanks to all this, the company now makes forthright, sincere wines which have identity.
Teran, produced in limited quantities, is an expressive wine that's an impenetrable violet colour, with crisp acidity and slightly harsh tannins. On the nose there are the typical aromas of black fruit jam, dried violets, thyme, cedar wood, juniper, coffee, leather, liquorice and rust, seemingly making a rather dark ensemble but complex and intriguing overall. On the palate, it's a vigorous wine that has great freshness and some noticeable tannins accompanying its fruit-driven finish. A wine which is slightly on the harsh side and most unusual, and for that precise reason, one that's hard to forget. To be enjoyed from now onwards or for keeping on the rack for several more years.

Nice crunchy red, but too expensive
I like these crunchy karst-grown light (in alcohol but not in colour!) reds. This one, though, is rather expensive for what it is.

Not good
I have had another Skerk so i thought this would be good but even after letting it breathe for awhile it did not develop!
