The wine

In contrast to the typical image of Pinot Nero Pavese, which is structured and somewhat muscular, this is a true champion of grace and elegance. Very clear and of excellent consistency, the bouquet begins with notes of undergrowth (blackberry and cassis), followed by those of dried violet, menthol and liquorice, and a slight hint of leather. The bouquet is very elegant, linear, of great breadth and continuity. On the palate it is silky, elegant, of great warmth. The olfactory sensations return, amplified in a crescendo of great balance surrounded by thick tannins, but which are very soft and round. It closes with a long-lasting finish. Perfect paired with all kinds of pasta dishes, vegetable quiches, white and red meats. Served fresh, it is also excellent with fish.

Perhaps, but the quality of his wines is an undisputed value in Oltrepò Pavese. Here, where for too many years commerce has raged eroding very broad spaces for quality, since the early 1980s Gianluca Ruiz de Cardenas has...
