La Rifra is a winery located in the locality of Pilandro, a few steps from Desenzano del Garda, in the heart of Lugana, an area that owes its celebrity to an extraordinary wine production, which includes some of the most appreciated wines by connoisseurs. The white Lugana wines of Desenzano del Garda produced by La Rifra are all obtained from the Trebbiano di Soave grape (also known as Trebbiano di Lugana).
What does this wine taste like?
Lugana Libiam is a white wine with a straw yellow color with greenish reflections, the nose reveals a sensation of citrus, floral, with notes of white-fleshed fruit. Sapid, with good acidity and structure, it is soft and delicate to the taste. Excellent as an aperitif, with appetizers, fish and first courses.
Drinking and storing
I last tasted a Lugana wine whilst in Venice for the carnival in February 2020. My wife had made roasted salmon and some nice garlic potatoes. We rarely drink white wine. However, this Lugana was divine and is now one of my wifes favourites. I do wish I had purchased more of this particular wine
Very enjoyable wine. Peach, citrus and floral notes. On the palate creamy and round. Wonderful wine to drink just himself or with food
One of the best
This is one of the best Luganas we have had! It had a deep, rich flavour with a subtle fruitiness without being over powering.
A very versatile wine - great as an aperitif, on its own any time or with fish and white meats.
Beautiful crisp italian white
We had this in a local restaurant, delicious... and glad to say that it's just as good at home!
