La Ferghettina Franciacorta Brut

Behind the La Ferghettina wines lies the passion of an entire family: that of Roberto Gatti, his wife and their two children, both oenologists. Since 1991 the winery has been presenting sparkling wines made in accordance with traditional methods and recognised for the high quality of their crafting and the very pleasurable end result.

Franciacorta Brut is obtained from principally the Chardonnay variety with a small amount of Pinot Noir. The grapes are harvested by hand in mid-August and, after a gentle press to allow extraction of the free-run juice, production of the base wine ensues, which will repose on its lees for 24 months.

In the glass, it emanates fruit aromas, especially citrus ones, but also the scent of white flowers and wafts of bread crust. These aromas are confirmed on the palate, and it appears a wine of medium structure, creamy texture and pleasant flavour. Franciacorta is a sparkling wine that is finely crafted, forthright, without superfluities, fresh and an absolute pleasure for the palate.
