The wine

One landscape, one wine. This is the philosophy of Anne-Laurence Chadronnier, the winemaker at the helm of Château Marsau. An estate of over 13 hectares in the AOC Francs-Côte-de-Bordeaux, along the clayey "rive droite" that is the undisputed Merlot kingdom. What Robert Parker considers to be the "Petrus of the Côtes-de-Francs" is therefore today a winery run by women. A winemaker, following in the footsteps of her uncle Jean-Marie and alongside her husband Mathieu, Anne-Laurence has an emotional approach to the vineyard, even more than to the wine.

She talks to her vines, dialogues with them and, with a thirst for challenges, enhances even the most extreme vintages: the style, therefore, is aimed at expressing all the naturalness of the terroir and the vintages, and the vineyards are in fact in organic conversion. A holistic sensibility that is more unique than rare in the Bordeaux region, and that translates into a Merlot that, after a year in 30% new oak, is rich in coffee and black cherry aromas, dense, pure, medium and full-bodied.
